Don’t compare yourself to other runners; focus on your own fitness and performance. – Jack Daniels, PhD, Daniels’ Running Formula

I love this quote from a book I re-read all the time and reference in my own coaching. It’s a quote I focus on daily in my own running and the running of my athletes. I sometimes forget in my own life and running (I’m not perfect) but my own coach (Yogi Triathlete) and mentor reminds me when I have forgotten. Thanks coach.

So, why do I coach, here are 10 reasons:

  1. I LOVE running. I could talk about it and read about it all day long.
  2. I love people and listening to their stories.
  3. I love when people tell me they are “not a runner.” So I guess you can say I love a challenge.
  4. I love the challenge of creating a training plan for each unique individual.
  5. I geek out on information, books, articles, talking to other coaches, and love sharing everything I have learned from my 20+ years experience running.
  6. I love helping a client find creative ways to fit running into their everyday life. As a mother runner and entrepreneur I totally understand the challenge of fitting it all in.
  7. I love helping middle school and high school kids create good habits mentally and physically around running.
  8. As someone who has had successes and failures, with learning and growth thrown in, I am here for all my athletes on the good days and not so good days.
  9. I love helping others reach for a goal and take the daily, little action steps to get them there no matter what level of runner they are.
  10. It’s fun, challenging, rewarding, and hard work. And I love every second of it.

If you are curious about working with a coach or you have a Fall race you want to start training for I would be psyched to talk with you and answer any questions you have. Or maybe you just have questions about getting back into running, let me know. Send me a message. Let’s talk about it. As you can see I love coaching and talking about running. I’m here to cheer you on.
